Fanning
Springs Florida is famous for the springs and the Suwannee River.
Fanning Springs Fl is also home to the 1836 site of Fort Fanning,
located on a high Suwannee River bluff. It is one of only three
Florida towns straddling the lines of two counties (Gilchrist and

Divers can enjoy searching the remains of a 90 foot Union gunboat sunk

became the site of the southernmost bridge spanning the Suwannee
River. Visitors come from afar to swim in the natural springs. Camping
and fishing the Suwannee River is a fun past time. Canoeing, kayaking
and swimming are also great outdoor activities. There are also a few
Manatees in the area. Lodging in Fanning Springs is readily available
