Fanning Springs sits near the middle of what will soon be the 30 mile Nature Coast Trail. At present the paved trail begins on the north side of US 19/98 near the Agricultural Inspection Station and heads west to crosses the railroad trestle to Old Town and Cross City. There is no designated parking lot yet but the merchants nearby will usually accommodate you. Greenway expansions now in progress will stretch from Fanning Springs east to Trenton, south to Chiefland, and west to Cross City.
